Our Giving Tree

When I purchased Solace, I knew I wanted to make Solace a more community driven studio. Not just to our own community but to the community we live in and to give back. When I started searching in November for a family to adopt, I looked into adopting a family in our beloved hard hit Western North Carolina area. After searching through tons of sites that turned out to be fake along with fake emails and getting no where I was a bit discouraged. I had a hair appointment that afternoon and decided to take a break. As I walked into the salon, there were a few flyers hanging around the studio about a family in Kannapolis that needed help. The mom and her two children had tragically lost their husband and father to suicide and needed help to get on their feet. How much clearer could the “sign” be? I realized that I was trying to control where my help and outreach were going instead of letting the help find me and showing me where help was needed.

It is easy to get caught up in trying to control situations, feelings and emotions. Take the time to pause, take a breath and let go.
